What does "Scratch n' Dent" mean?
These are the same special edition flip books that sold for $160, with small cosmetic flaws from printing or shipping: a dinged corner, a scuff on the foil, a scratch on the case. The pages, the stenciled edges, the endpapers, the ribbons, the stories? All perfect.
If you'd rather read them than display them in a glass case, this is the deal. Several reviewers couldn't even find the flaw.
Because these are sold as-is at a steep discount, there are no returns on Scratch n' Dent books.
We've all heard the story of the Four Horsemen.
Harbingers of the apocalypse. Destruction given form. Four of the sexiest—wait no—forget that. You get my point.
So imagine my surprise when I find out everything I've ever been told is a lie.
My name is Ruby Morningstar.
I run a tattoo parlor in Portland with my best friend, have a pet raccoon, a crazy ex that stalks me, not to mention this one little thing… I'm a demon. Half-succubus, to be exact.
For the last twenty-three years of my life, that's the story I believed. But on the day a handsome stranger bails me out of jail, my world is turned upside down, and suddenly I don't know who I am anymore.
Because the Four Horsemen aren't the bringers of the apocalypse.
I am. Talk about never catching a break.

Frequently asked questions
What are "flip books"?
Each foiled hardback holds two books of the series. Read one, flip the book over, and read the next. Two volumes give you all four books: Lucifer's Daughter through the end of Ruby's story.
What does Scratch n' Dent mean? Are the books readable?
Completely readable. Scratch n' Dent copies have minor cosmetic flaws on the outside, like a bumped corner or a scuffed case. The interiors, stenciled edges, and ribbons are exactly what you'd get in a full-price copy. Several readers have told us they couldn't find the flaw at all.
Can I return them?
No. Because these are sold as-is at 75% off, there are no returns on Scratch n' Dent books. If you'd prefer a pristine copy with a full return window, check out the full-price special editions.
Is the series complete?
Yes. Queen of the Damned is a completed series, and these two volumes include all four books.
Are they signed?
Every book is signed by Kel.
What's the heat level? Any content warnings?
It's a slow-to-mid-burn reverse harem urban fantasy with lots of action and some hot romance. Expect multiple F-bombs, violence, and explicit sexual situations.
When will my order ship?
Orders ship within 10 business days. You'll get an email with tracking once your books are on their way.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to some countries. Unfortunately, at this time EU is excluded from that due to regulations we can't fulfill. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address.
What if my package is damaged in transit?
Cosmetic flaws are expected with Scratch n' Dent, but if the box arrives crushed or the books are seriously damaged in shipping, reach out through our contact page with photos and we'll take a look.
